Early Childhood Development Project
Challenge:
In Mwanza, Tanzania more than 11% of the population is under five years of age. Nearly 90% of children in this region are born in families that struggle with poverty. So, time to play and learn with little ones is minimal less than 30 minutes a day at most. As a result, Infants and young children are at risk of violence by primary care givers and other family members because of limited social interaction outside home.
Research shows that Children raised in violent environment are more likely to have behavioral problems with long term negative mental and physiological consequences.
Our Solution:

We are proposing for the establishment of a New Day Care Centre that will aim to leverage the power of entertainment to deliver child centered sustainable, effective early learning opportunities under the ECD Program. This project will construct vibrant fun play spaces and deliver age-appropriate tools and games engaging facilitators, and a love for culture with an evidence-based curriculum to give all children the early start they deserve.
