We are a non- profit indigenous organization based in Tanzania dedicated to tackling poverty and inequality by improving access to education and health to underprivileged children and young girls living in extreme poverty.

Why Education?

At Child in Action Foundation, we believe education is the key to break free from poverty thus our work focuses on addressing the root causes of why children are not at school and paves the way for success in classroom and beyond. We therefore work on removing obstacles to accessing primary and secondary education in Tanzania placing girls at the center of our projects.
Girls have greater obstacles to overcome to be able to attend school in Tanzania; therefore, we are addressing issues that are specifically related to girl’s education and empowering young women to step up as leaders of change.

Our Approach

Our approach is rooted in community led development project rather than aid as local ownership is vital in the sustainability of our projects. We work together with local communities from initial proposal through to a project completion.

Where We Work

We currently implement our projects in 4 districts of Mwanza region of Northern Tanzania around the shore of Lake Victoria. The 4 district we work are Misungwi, Sengerema, Nyamagana and Ilemela. While Misungwi and sengerema has rural characteristics, Nyamagana and Ilemela posses Semi-urban characteristics.

Meet Our Team

We are a vibrant team of exceptional young leaders fueled by a joint passion for positive change and connected through extensive grassroots networks. Our team possess a wealth of expertise in the key domains of Sustainable Development Goals.

Dr. Felix is an award-winning public health physician with more than 10 years’ experience leading community development projects. He’s passionate about Sustainable Development Goals and possess a positive forward-thinking approach to the management of winning team.

Mwasiti has over four years' experience in community development projects. As a project Officer, she is responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating girl’s education program that addresses menstrual hygiene management.

At the age of 30 years, Ms. Irene is a veteran of a decade advocating directly for rights of women and young girls in Tanzania and proven a track record of working extensively with multiple stakeholders focusing on gender responsive solutions.

Mr.Benethy Malima has been volunteering towards community and social improvement for over 15 years now, particularly in education, health care, youth empowerment, climate change, and agriculture.

Ms. Neema is a strategic communication practitioner passionate about community development and arts as a vehicle for social change. She has been committed to creating a good change in deprived populations from a young age by integrating poverty reduction, gender equality and community health in Tanzania.
